Any student will benefit from decent planning and personalised scheduling. But this becomes even more important and necessary when you are balancing a professional activity with an educational programme.
I know because I've done it.

I combined a fulltime job with a Master in Communication Sciences over the course of 5 years and graduated in July 2021. That did not cover the entire bachelor and master years, as I was able to follow a reduced trajectory thanks to my previously obtained professional bachelor.
Still, the 2 full years I had to follow were each split in half, resulting in a planned graduation after 4 years. (I ended up needing an extra year to finish my thesis. Cfr. Step 4: Cheats)
This was a jam packed schedule, as my student counselors would repeatedly remind me. And it was far from the normal track that working students tended to follow.
A normal track would have the student reduce their worktime by 30% to 50% and would have them spread out the study load over a longer period of time.
I didn't want to do that, so I needed a really good schedule that would allow me to meet my goals while at the same time enable all my other activities and obligations.
The schedule had to be on point, clear, easy to use, adaptable but solid.
A tool to help me reach my goals within the set timeframe.
This Time Management Series covers the steps I took that enabled me to do just that. By continually refining the process I was able to get exactly what I needed.
And now I'm ready to share it with you.
In 5 editions we will go over the following topics:
Step 1: Create your schedule following the 3 conditions: KiSS, KiA and MiA
Step 2: Choose the Types, Tools & Templates for your Project and Operational Schedules
Step 3: Structure your Schedule with Coding and Visualisation
Step 4: Take control of your goals by setting your own Rules & knowing when to Cheat
Step 5: Use available Resources to get what you need to succeed.
I hope you find this series useful. Please feel free to reach out if you would like to get in touch.
I would love to hear from you.
Meanwhile I wish you the best with all your projects,
Sabine
